Before the league final, Nicky English wrote a column where he said that now that Tipp had reached a league decider, their aim should be to try and make an All-Ireland semi-final. After Tipp were hammered in that final by Cork, did anyone really believe that was a realistic target? I didn’t. And I wasn’t the only one.

Cork, Clare and Limerick were expected to come out of Munster. After shipping some horrendous beatings in last year’s championship, Tipp didn’t look capable of making up enough ground in Munster to be able to qualify from the round robin. And now they’re 70 minutes away from winning what would be one of the most unexpected All-Irelands ever.
