One of the most counterintuitive news stories of the year surfaced on Wednesday when we learned of the threat to our drinkable water supply.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has reported that the water supply for half a million Irish people is at risk, naming several areas that have a supply which is neither robust nor resilient.
