During my six years as Dublin manager, I only had a handful of rows with John Costello, then Dublin secretary and CEO, but one of the biggest arguments I had with John was before the 2014 All-Ireland quarter-final against Tipperary.

We had just been beaten by Kilkenny in the Leinster final when I got a call from John the following day to inform me that the likely venue for our quarter-final was Thurles.
