We're disillusioned with always being outbid on houses we love. How can we improve our chances?

There are many prospective buyers who feel as you do in the middle of a housing crisis but there are ways to better your chances of securing a home
We're disillusioned with always being outbid on houses we love. How can we improve our chances?

It’s important to be patient throughout the whole home-buying process, knowing you won’t be successful in most houses you walk into.

We are looking for a simple two/three-bedroom home within a short commute of the city centre and really love the older style house with character… not a lot to ask for…? The trouble is we keep having no success — other bidders seem to swoop in and be successful.

We’re tired and disillusioned with the process at this stage and we both feel our lack of experience is really hurting us now, as we’re now bidding on houses expecting to be outbid. Can you help with some advice? Have we done something wrong up to now and how can we improve our chances of buying a home? Thanks for your help.
