Former Cork county councillor and member of Sinn Féín Des O'Grady, who passed away on Wednesday.

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald led tributes on Friday following the death of the party’s former Cork county councillor, Des O’Grady.

Mr O’Grady, from Ovens in Cork, and who was elected to Cork County Council in 2014 and who stepped down ahead of the 2019 local elections to allow a cooption, died in Cork University Hospital on Wednesday with his family at his bedside.
