Nursing, midwifery and health/social care graduates to be offered HSE jobs in 2024

It’s hoped that the incoming midwives, nurses and more will help strengthen the national health service for years to come.

The HSE has decided to offer permanent contracts of employment to all Nursing and Midwifery graduates and all Health/Social Care (HSCP) graduates this year.

More than 1,000 HSCP final year students and 1,600 nurses and midwives can now qualify for these roles, on completion of their courses and placements. The recruitment of as many of these graduates as possible will be fundamental to the delivery and development of services within the HSE. The move is designed to address shortages of frontline staff in key areas.
